Walgreens Rebate Shopping for Beginners

>> March 3, 2009

Basic Walgreens Rebate Program shopping instructions:

Step 1:
Go to the store and grab one of these little booklets called: Easy Saver Catalogs. You find them in the front part of store. Each month Walgreens puts out a new Easy Saver Catalog.
Step 2:
Start looking through the Easy Saver Catalog. Get familiar with it..Become One with it. Love it, squeeze it, pet it and name it George... Okay, maybe not that familiar..but you get the idea.
Inside you will notice that the first half of the booklet has Walgreens Instant value coupons in it.

Then, the middle of the book has REBATE details and a big list of all the REBATE stuff for the current month. Notice the FREE ones are listed first! Everyone loves FREE!
After that are pictures & detailed info of each of those listed rebate items. Those little details are important! Make sure when you buy your items you get the exact size listed!

Step 3:
BUY THOSE FREES!
Make sure you are buying the exact item listed or you wont get your money back, check sizes and types. If you have manufacturers coupons for these definitely use them for your purchase. All your FREES and other rebates you would like can be on one receipt, or on many receipts, it doesn't matter. But do not lose your receipts! You will need them!

Step 4:
CLAIM YOUR REBATE!!
To process your rebate you have two options.
Easy Way= Online.
Not-So-Easy Way = Mail which includes:
Circling all your items on the receipts, filling out the form in the easy saver, Mailing all receipts and the form to Easy Saver Processing. You will have to follow the instructions in the booklet.
..............................
Let me walk you through the ONLINE way. Its a piece of cake!
First, go to the Walgreens Easy Saver section of their site (link below):

Walgreens Easy Saver site click here

Click: Claim Rebates
If this is your first time doing this you will need to Register on Walgreens site. Enter all your info! After you register, it should take you to a page called:EASY SAVER CLAIMS

Pick the right month and click: Start/Add Receipt

This takes you to the SPECIAL OFFERS PAGE:
Click on each of the rebates you bought.
Then scroll down to click: Continue

Next is the ENTER REBATE RECEIPTS page: Get your receipt and look at it. You will need to enter your receipt RFN# for your receipts. (RFN number is by the arrow in my receipt example below). Enter the number from your receipt into the spot on the website.
Then click: Save Receipt.

Next page is CHOOSE REBATE PAYMENT page: If you are brand new and want to have them give you your money back on a Walgreens gift card
click: New Easy Saver Gift Card.
I love doing the gift cards because not only do I get 10% bonus back but I get the money back so much faster the next month as it is quick normally for Walgreens to just "add money" to my gift card. Plus I just use my gift card the next month to buy the Free After Rebate items so I am not spending anything out of pocket.
If you want to do the rebate check that is fine too.
Click: Rebate Check by Mail if that one if that's what you would like.
Then press Continue.

You are now on the REVIEW & CLAIM area page. I normally wait until the end of the month to claim my rebates just in case there are other deals later on in the month. So, if you want to wait to submit this until the end of the month
Click: Save & Return Later.
You can add more receipts later or Walgreens Easy Saver will automatically process your rebate once the month is over for you.
If you are at the end of the month and are done shopping you can
click : Claim Rebates Now.
It will then process your rebate! Normally it takes 2-3 weeks to have them processed to you. Faster if you have it on a gift card.

And that's it. You are done! I hope this little guide makes it a little bit easier for you to understand how easy Walgreens Rebate program is.

Happy Shopping!

Ohh, I think I might actually try that! It doesn't seem too hard, thanks for the instructions!

Oh no. My first time was for this last month. I already submitted it online. I did everything but check the boxes that said which rebates I was going for. Will I still get my rebates? Will they just pull it off my receipts? Or do I need to call and get that 'fixed'? I should be getting a little over $25 back and I hope I haven't screwed it up!

You did a great job on this post. Thanks so much. This will help me a lot!

Jeanette..it will be fine. I have missed checking those boxes sometimes, and their system is smart enough to pull your rebate items off the receipts. You can actually go in after a few days and check your status..make sure everything came through right, and if not you will need to call them to get it fixed. :)
